TagIT Boxes

An alternative method of determining driver ID is to use the TagIT system. Each driver is issued with a key-fob or ID card which has a small metal disc attached. This disc has a unique ID code embedded within it. A TagIT reader is installed in the driver's cab area and connected back to the OTMR via a network. As the driver logs on or off to the vehicle he touches his ID tag onto the tag reader. The code is read and transmitted to the OTMR. An LED mounted on the TagIT box flashes to confirm that the code has been successfully read and logged by the OTMR.

A look up table can be incorporated to display real driver ID information, rather than numbered codes.
