Compliance & Approvals Engineer

This technical role of Compliance and Approvals Engineer within our R&D team will establish you as the company's expert on relevant standards, with responsibility for all approvals and compliance issues related to the development of the team's electronic products. This will include preparing units for approval testing (such as EMC and vibration), creating test plans & documentation for approvals, liaising with external test houses, supporting approvals testing at UK test–houses / debugging failures, and performing some in–house approvals tests. You will provide input to new designs, which will require you to keep up–to–date with new standards and updates.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • At least 2 years of experience of EMC approvals testing
  • Experience debugging EMC failures
  • General knowledge of RF, EMC and electronics.
  • A good understanding of relevant EN standards and related test methods
  • Familiarity with basic test equipment to aid debug (eg scopes)

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Experience of approvals testing to EN50155
  • Product analysis for EN45545
  • A good understanding of RoHS2, WEEE, EEE, REACH and SVHC
  • Familiarity with EN50126 (RAMS)
  • Experience of representing the company to customers
  • Experience working within an R&D team
